Viruses...... Living or Nonliving!!!????

This question makes everyone confused. Are viruses living or nonliving? My answer to this question is that I think that viruses are nonliving. I know that many people have different answers and reasons. Here are my reasons. One is that viruses are not like cells. This means that they can not perform all the functions and ways of living cells. Second, viruses can't take in food or get rid of their wastes. Third of all, viruses can only reproduce, but with the help from of a living host cell. That is the only function that a virus shares with a living organism.
